During my senior year at American University, I was recruited as an intern to join a small accounting firm in Alexandria, VA. I graduated with a business degree that spring with a specialization in accounting, and loved what I was doing, so I decided to stay with the company full time. Throughout my seven years working with Kahn, CPA PLLC, I helped Stephen Kahn build his business and serviced an average of 400 clients per year by preparing tax returns and providing bookkeeping services. Typical financial situations included dual-income families with nannies or children in daycare. Payroll processing of household employees became one of my specialties. Stock sales, self-employment income and rental properties were also a common reason our clients would seek tax guidance with our firm.

As a mother of three, when my youngest was born I decided to start working from my home office.  I dropped my 1 hour commute and started offering exceptional service to families in our community and, literally, across the world.
